Lanterns: America: What Do We Stand For?

America: What Do We Stand For?

I called my blog "EmpowerShop Pro-Life" because I'm passionate about overturning Roe V. Wade and Doe V. Bolton. I want to share any news that educates and empowers the reversal of these abhorrent and unAmerican cases. I have great hope of seeing minds and hearts changed since I discovered that even those who fought in these landmark cases for "choice" both repented of their involvement with deep regret.

Behind the anonymous names of these cases were two women who went on to be vocal prolife activists. Norma McCorvey was the Roe of Roe v. Wade. Sandra Cano was the Doe of Doe v. Bolton. Both were used by pro-abortion lawyers. Both asked the U.S. Supreme Court to rehear their cases, but the justices refused to hear them directly once their stories had produced the result the Court demanded. Both Norma and Sandra have since passed away.

I had high hopes during the last election like Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life shared in her recent recording on Sound Cloud. Hillary Clinton just published her book, "What Happened?"  I want to assure her that we voted—  that's what happened!

However, since the election, I've had a lot of mixed feelings. I'm not saying that I regret my decision not to vote for Clinton, but I wonder whether electing President Trump was based on false promises and good intentions. Obviously, neither are sufficient to compel actual change. In the same vein, I have to ask myself if voting, posting, and praying is really going to turn America back to a nation that believes in inalienable rights?

Fortunately, I don't have to wait long to find out where President Trump stands. There are two litmus tests for his campaign promises which will be apparent long before our next election. One of them is defunding Planned Parenthood which has little chance as long as it is tied to another socialized health care plan.

The second will be Trump signing the Late-Term Abortion Ban which has now passed the House and is en route to the Senate. (Three times is a charm? We'll see.)

Herein lies my chagrin. I've been defending myself and fellow pro-lifers against a group that calls themselves abolitionists (Abolish Human Abortion). They aren't celebrating the pain-capable abortion ban, I'm sure. I actually think that they make some valid points which they conclude with this uppercase clause:

I'm not saying that I'm going to call myself "Abolitionist" starting today. For one thing, I don't think that we're on separate sides of this war, and from all the posts I've seen on social media, the abolitionist mindset has become confused about who the real enemy is in this battle for the unborn. They are right about one thing, though: If I can save a few or one, I will without apology!  In fact, here is one story that I am celebrating, today! Michele Herzog, Pro-Life Action Ministries, posted this:

*******PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! After seeing us ministering at the PP Orlando abortuary today, this woman pulled over to thank us for being there, to encourage us and to tell us about her seventeen year old son that she almost aborted....listen to her incredible story....what an encouragement for us sidewalk counselors!!!! Thank you Jesus for intervening on behalf of her son!!!!!!

Obviously, her son was a human child even before he was born. He is one reason why I am not thrilled with the late-term abortion ban moving forward. Since a baby is human, they are supposed to have an inalienable right to life in America. That is the premise that our nation was founded on! Sadly,  in 1973, the courts ruled that a baby was only real if it was wanted. In 2017, we compromised and admit that things have gone too far. Now, it's fine to kill a human being as long as they can't feel it.

Are we actually naive enough to believe that won't open a Pandora's Box? Have you ever heard of Euthanasia? I shared recently that if you have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's or Dementia in Canada, you may not have to be informed of a plan to end your life (since you won't remember it, anyway).

Las Vegas is in everyone's hearts and mind this week because of the insanity of one man who (from reports) is responsible for the murder of 59 strangers and injuring almost 600 more. I was curious about whether or not the unborn were counted in the casualty list. I did some research, and what I've found so far doesn't mention pregnancy.

I did learn that in 2011, the unborn were counted as victims in the World Trade Center Memorial. In fact, one child was killed whose mother survived and was listed. Ironically, a child may be listed as murdered if a sniper from a distant hotel shot her, or if she died in a terrorist attack. However, if a mother left a concert and decided that since her significant other was dead or wounded, she didn’t feel that she could handle having their child, he would eventually be picked up as waste by a Stericycle truck or sold as body parts. This is unconscionable!

If you don’t think that we’re in a full-fledged war, then you need to check out tonight’s webcast, The Abortion Empire Strikes Back tonight at 9 PM.

This is about life or death: It doesn't get any more urgent than this, friends! So, whether or not you want to wear a label, please consider my plea to stand for life from inception to natural death. If you want to truly see our culture change, then please read the following post by my Pastor, Douglas Michael Bankson, and pray for revival. Jesus is truly our only hope!
