This week is Buy American Week!
Gosh ..this excites me because I have a fun little hobby of finding all things “Made In America.” These products are worthy of being promoted. This week I ask that you go to my facebook page and twitter and list all companies /business’ that “make it here!” I want to revisit this from time to time!
Since there is more interest in spending our money with intention, I thought that it was important to kick it up a notch this week. Raising this bar for America sounds like a good plan to me. This would help my country, and I like investing my money where I think it needs to go. I have been known to ask for the buyer's name of a store and talk to them if they could do little better on America's behalf.
I have gone so far as look at the labels of clothing before I purchase it. I have waited to buy a new car because I decided to buy an American made car. Look up American made cars and tell me your favorite. Here is the Kelley Blue Book for you to have some fun with.
Here is a thought— people went to other countries in order to have things cheaply made, and that's not going to work for them that much longer. America is bringing them back! Watch out, China’s minimum wage is going up! In 2018, the minimum wage is going from $2.00 /hr to around $15.00 /hr.
People used to think that Buying American was too expensive… “Consumers are all for Made in America products until they have to pay for it,” said Grey Portel who is a partner at A.T. Kearney who specializes in advertising retailers.
Well, now that will change!
Wouldn’t you want to know what companies you could invest your money in so that the wealth, revenue, and jobs stayed in our own country? Another step would be finding which companies endorse the liberal ideology and causes, and NOT giving them our support and money. When I found out that Progressive Insurance gave so much money to the Clinton election, I literally choked on my lemonade.
There are so many American companies here— Wrangler, Sealy, Carhart...the list goes on...please add to it!
I do want to say that I understand why so many companies moved out of the country to make and develop their products. When our last President, Barack Obama, decided to take away the tax write off for all companies’ research and development, he put the death nail in many companies’ abilities to thrive in the USA. They could not afford to research and create new products and make better old products in America. Jobs were lost. NOW America is bringing a major number of jobs back. The moment has arrived for Americans to truly rise up and support their Country.
