Lanterns: Obama Spied, the Media Lied

Obama Spied, the Media Lied

What is coming to light is shocking.  It’s Watergate gone nuclear.

We already know that the Obama Administration has no qualms wielding the power of the federal government against its enemies even if they are private citizens:

Obama’s IRS’ harassed private conservative citizens who had requested non-profit tax exempt status because they were conservative in nature;

Now we are learning how vast the Obama DeepState spying conspiracy is. Radio talk show host and former Chief of Staff in the Reagan Administration Mark Levin laid out the “overwhelming” case based on readily available public information. Included in Levin’s explanation is that Obama’s shadow government — at least six agencies of the Federal Government — collaborated for months to spy on Donald Trump.

Watch this video before they take it down!

Levin cites sources Heat Street, The Guardian, McClatchy, The New York Times, and The Washington Post to lay out his case that the federal government spying on Trump has been going on for at least a year.

Only a liberal college snowflake would believe that Obama knew nothing about it.

As Andrew McCarthy explains at National Review Online:

The issues are (a) whether the Obama Justice Department sought such surveillance authorization from the FISA court, and (b) whether, if the Justice Department did that, the White House was aware of or complicit in the decision to do so. Personally, given the explosive and controversial nature of the surveillance request we are talking about – an application to wiretap the presidential candidate of the opposition party, and some of his associates, during the heat of the presidential campaign, based on the allegation that the candidate and his associates were acting as Russian agents – it seems to me that there is less than zero chance that could have happened without consultation between the Justice Department and the White House.

After Hillary’s unexpected loss to Trump, in January, with just days left in office, Obama took the strange step to loosen NSA restrictions permitting these sources to leak to their media buddies to gossip about Trump, Trump’s campaign, his staff, and his appointments:

AS MICHAEL WALSH LATER NOTES, AND AS THE NEW YORK TIMES REPORTS, THE OUTGOING OBAMA ADMINISTRATION “EXPANDED THE POWER OF THE NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY TO SHARE GLOBALLY INTERCEPTED PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE GOVERNMENT’S 16 OTHER INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES BEFORE APPLYING PRIVACY PROTECTIONS.” THE NEW POWERS, AND REDUCED PROTECTIONS, COULD MAKE IT EASIER FOR INTELLIGENCE ON PRIVATE CITIZENS TO BE CIRCULATED IMPROPERLY OR LEAKED.

Despite secret FISA wiretaps, the Democrats still haven’t produced a scintilla of evidence that Trump, anyone on his staff, anyone in his administration, or even anyone in the Republican party conspired with the Russians to rig the election. The New York Times has grudgingly confirmed that there is nothing there.  But the media is helping spin the lie that the FISA Court had reason to believe there was a criminal connection to Trump. Who are they covering for?

Clearly, Obama was banking on Hillary Clinton to win the election. Had Hillary won, this collaboration of government agencies secretly targeting Trump would never have come to light. The Obama Administration and the media seem to accuse others of their own nefarious goals. Have Levin, McCarthy, and others uncovered evidence that the Obama Administration spied on Trump and his campaign in order to throw the election to Hillary?

Congress should demand an investigation to determine the extent of Obama’s shadow government operations; the degree of spying on our new president; the real possibility that the Obama #DeepState colluded to throw the election against Trump; and the degree to which it continues its operation to undermine the new Administration’s ability to govern.
