Dear Mr. President,
I've been waiting with bated breath to see the headline in LifeNews that I just read: President Donald Trump Defunds Planned Parenthood, Will Cut Almost $60 Million in Taxpayer Funding. Recently, Susan B. Anthony List (I know that you must be exciting about speaking at their upcoming Gala! I wish I could be there as well.) requested that we write to thank you for your pro-life stand. Mostly, I want to thank you for keeping restoring my hope in the democratic process by keeping a campaign promise:
"I would defund it (Planned Parenthood) because of the abortion factor, which they say is 3 percent. I don't know what percentage it is. They say it's 3 percent. But I would defund it, because I'm pro-life."

I would be remiss not to also thank Vice President Mike Pence and KellyAnne Conway for also standing for life and for your administration creating and abiding by The Protect Life Rule.

The Protect Life Rule stops taxpayer funding of abortion through the Title X family planning program. Most Americans agree that abortion is not family planning and oppose taxpayer-funded abortion.
I belong to that majority, Mr. President, and again, I applaud your actions thus far. It is a good beginning, Mr. President. However, we have a long way to go, of course.
Actually, though, we have an opportunity to return to the beginning. The Moral Outcry has launched a renewal of the petition to repeal this ill-gotten law which opened the Pandora's box to abortion on demand in the United States. Sir, if you have not signed this petition, please do so, today. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this attempt has been made. According to the site,
In the 1992 landmark case Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the US Supreme Court had an opportunity to reverse Roe v. Wade, and its companion Doe v Bolton. In conference the justices voted 5-4 to overturn Roe and Doe, but at the 11th hour before the opinion was released a centrist coalition of moderate judges – including Justice Kennedy who switched his vote – was formed to write a compromise that would weaken the Roe and Doe decisions, but still leave abortion as the law of the land.
However, because of your pro-life stance and the recent appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court (fulfilling another campaign promise), we have a chance to succeed at last! Quoting LifeNews: "Neil Gorsuch Has Been a Breath of Fresh Air for Pro-Life Conservatives."
In A Story of Seventeen, I quoted Jake Eakin:
“We are distressed by massacres while we live at peace with a holocaust." Nearly 62 million babies killed by abortion in the U.S. since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
I wrote that article after the Parkland School Shooting here in Florida. I still feel the same way: heartbroken, but not tearful. As others have said, we've become callous when saying "another school shooting". Once again, I was on my way to stand with Pro-Life Action Ministries (PLAM) at All Women's Health Center to prayerfully plead for mothers to choose life before the Santa Fe High School shooter, suspect Dimitrios Pagourtzis, was taken into custody. Ironically, the murderers of the babies at AWHC have not actually committed a crime according to our laws. My prayers go out to the community in Santa Fe.
Mr. President, we have a long way to go to restore dignity and the proper valuation of human life that our forefathers expressed in our Bill of Rights:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Prayerfully, together, we will continue the fight for life by acknowledging the truth: Life begins with conception. In God we trust.
