During the Golden Globes, Meryl Streep criticized Donald Trump in front of a crowd full of liberal virtue signalers.
Streep said the following in an acceptance speech for a Lifetime Achievement award:
“There was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart – not because it was good. There was nothing good about it. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country, imitated a disabled reporter – someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.”
No, this liberal lie has been debunked– yet the liberal media continues to regurgitate it.
The media won’t let go of the debunked theory that Donald Trump mocked disabled reporter, Serge Kovaleski. Trump mocked a reporter with a disability, but he did not mock a reporter because of his disability. Trump has made similar gestures on many occasions, including a moment as early as 2005. A compilation of clips proves Trump uses those gestures as a tactic to parody people.
Trump fired back with a series of tweets at Streep, calling her “overrated” and a “Hillary flunky” while criticizing her for using her acceptance speech as a platform to spread lies about him:
Streep is not a woman of superior intellect just because she plays ‘pretend’ in movies. This attack against Trump only proves how truly out of touch celebrities really are with at least half of Americans. Hillary Clinton lost, Trump won. It’s about time for celebrities to accept that people only care about their movies, not their political opinions.
