Media Blackout: Awan Brothers Scandal

Americans are sick of the exhaustive Russia probe.  A recent Bloomberg survey suggests just 6% of Americans believe Mueller's Russia investigation is important despite the media's push to keep it as the top news story.  New polling data from Fox also suggests over 65% of Americans feel the Trump-Russia "witch hunt" is hurting the United States.  All the more maddening is the media's blackout on the real scandal involving the Awan brothers and Florida Congresswoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

The Awan Brothers Scandal

Imran Awan headed a group of IT specialists composed of mostly relatives.  They were employed by dozens of House Democrats including former DNC-head and Congresswoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  In February, word got out that the Awan clan was under investigation, so their access to the House computer systems was blocked and everyone, except for Debbie Wasserman Schultz, fired the group.  The group was accused of overcharging lawmakers for services and stealing sensitive information and equipment.  They hacked the House Foreign Intelligence Committee and House Foreign Affairs committee servers and they had access to thousands of emails and documents.  Even though they amassed millions of dollars for IT work, they were in financial debt and had financial ties to Iraq, Pakistan, and Hezbollah.  Security experts believe the financial difficulties coupled with access to government information to be a “red flag”.

Some of the group fled to their native Pakistan, while Imran was arrested at the airport trying to flee the country in July.  The FBI seized smashed hard drives from his former residence.  Wasserman Schultz was finally forced to fire him.  After Capitol Police seized a laptop hidden in an office crevice, Wasserman Schultz famously chastised the Police Chief on video warning him of "consequences" heightening the suspicion of her involvement.  Stay tuned…

Media Blackout

The Scandal rages on, but the media, with the exception of Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, refuses to cover this important story.  Last week, ABC and NBC spent ZERO  minutes discussing this topic.  CBS spent 36 SECONDS reporting on the scandal.

How much time was devoted to Trump-Russia coverage?  It appears to be All-Russia-All-of the-time, with hundreds of minutes devoted to Robert Mueller’s investigation of the Trump campaign despite the lack of evidence.

The Democrats have put our National Security at risk and there is a media blackout!  What do you think?  Sound off in the comments below!
