Denial is a dangerous place to live.
Unfortunately, many women who are faced with unplanned pregnancy choose to deny that they are indeed having a baby— the original definition of being pregnant. The problem isn’t ignorance at all, nor is it new.
Many cite 1973 as the year that abortion began in the United States of America with the case, Roe V Wade. However, this isn’t completely accurate. It is actually the year that we chose to bury our heads in the sand claiming that since we couldn’t stop the epidemic (and nobody was actually getting hurt), we should legalize it and move on with our lives. So, how is that working out for the U.S.? If this were a physical epidemic, we’d all be dead. Instead, we have suffered the death of our national conscience by turning a blind eye to the death of nearly 60 million unborn human beings.
Many don’t realize that Norma McCorvey flipped sides and now considers herself and the women whose consciences were deadened by this decision to be victims as well.
In 1998, she testified to Congress:
It was my pseudonym, Jane Roe, which had been used to create the ‘right’ to abortion out of legal thin air. But [my attorneys] never told me that what I was signing would allow women to come up to me fifteen, twenty years later and say, ‘Thank you for allowing me to have my five or six abortions. Without you, it wouldn’t have been possible.’ [They] never mentioned women using abortions as a form of birth control…women already wearing maternity clothes.”
In 2005 McCorvey petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn their 1973 ruling, and she has endorsed politicians based on their pro-life voting record.
October 31, 1517, is known as Reformation Day, acknowledged for Martin Luther calling the church to repentance from dead works to simply share the Gospel of Jesus Christ based on repentance and challenging the denial of his day:
When Albert of Mainz appealed for a papal dispensation, Leo X was ready to deal. Albert, with the papal blessing, would sell indulgences for past, present, and future sins.
Unfortunately, with the reformation and abortion, both souls and lives are being lost eternally. It’s time for the church to wake up and call our nation back to holiness.
This year, 2017, bills have again been introduced to return at least a fraction of our pre-birth humanity. They state that since a fetus is estimated to feel pain at 20 weeks gestation, the abortion should not be legal after that according to H.R.36 – 115th Congress (2017-2018): Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
During the days of slavery, an African American was only considered three-fifths of a citizen. Since human gestation is approximately 47 weeks, we are allowing that an unborn baby who may feel the agony of abortion should be protected from pain and suffering because they are almost half-human.
Insanity is rampant in this fantasy world! If the baby is human, she should be protected PERIOD! When we look, we see a baby. Focus on the Family’s Option Ultrasound Program verifies that when a woman agrees to view the ultrasound of her baby, she may change her mind about abortion and choose either adoption or raising her child: Ultrasound scans make a difference! Since 2004, Option Ultrasound has saved an estimated 390,000 precious lives!
Perhaps, we should require a woman to view the ultrasound of her baby before she murders him, then she’ll at least make an informed choice. This is ludicrous! Either an American is human from conception until natural death or all the discussion is moot! It’s time to pass Personhood laws that are based on reality in a civilized nation.
In 2012, The Silent Scream Complete Version – Abortion as Infanticide was released. Everyone was shocked, but we apparently didn’t do anything about it. It’s been five years and abortion is legal for any reason throughout pregnancy in most states.
The Sanctity of Human Life Act “declares that: (1) the right to life guaranteed by the Constitution is vested in each human and is a person’s most fundamental right; (2) each human life begins with fertilization, cloning, or its equivalent, at which time every human has all the legal and constitutional attributes and privileges of personhood; and (3) Congress, each state, the District of Columbia, and each U.S. territory have the authority to protect all human lives.”
Please watch this movie, Amazing Animation of a Fetus Growing in the Womb and sign the Personhood petition to end our unjust and cruel laws allowing abortion. Yes, we will need to repent and re-educate to restore the meaning of human dignity and begin to control our natural impulses with Biblical teaching beginning in our churches.
Denial is a terrible place to live and if you have come to regret abortion in your life, please contact Rachel’s Vineyard to learn about how you can be relieved of this burden. Remember that just like Martin Luther penned “Salvation is available through the Gospel.”
