or "What is the Establishment and Why is It a Corruption of Government's True Purpose?"
The Establishment: A broad array of special interests busy buying influence from pols of both parties, anyone willing to grant them special benefits, privileges, and immunities. It puts public power in the service of private, pecuniary gain.
The special interests WIN, as do their well-heeled lawyers and lobbyists. In countless ways, millions of innocent, unsuspecting Americans LOSE. For their service, "leaders," those driven to gain, hold and rise in public office are rewarded with hefty campaign contributions and sundry other shows of appreciation. It's ALWAYS a quid pro quo.
The Establishment lives in the lap of luxury while the average American on Main-Street sits mired in misery. The seven wealthiest counties in the country border Washington DC, while communities across the land languish, millions seek but cannot find the wealth of opportunities America once offered.
Why is it a corruption of government's true purpose? When Congress confers special benefits on SOME, it denies equal protection under the law to ALL. And it turns American politics into the happy place Socialists and "counterfeit" Capitalists can go to get special benefits at their neighbors' expense.
If LIBERTY is largely consumed in LABOR and the fruit of one's labor is one's PROPERTY, then any act of Welfare GOV commits (Corporate or Social) is an act of THEFT under cover of LAW.
The Principle of Property stands guard against any public transfer of wealth (only we let our guard down a long time ago). Congress may TAX us, but only as much as it costs to PROTECT us (and that's way less than 25¢ of every dollar Washington spends, each year).
For all intents and purposes, the Establishment is otherwise known as the Corporate/Social Welfare State.
It is nothing more than a vast criminal conspiracy, a racketeering enterprise organized to promote institutionalized theft on a national scale and under cover of LAW.
The tools of the Establishment's corrupt trade: pork, bacon, earmarks, member items, constituent services, farm subsidies, protective tariffs, business bailouts, pay-to-play, too-big-to-fail and the ever-growing gaggle of Entitlements.
To take the money out of politics, we'll have to take the power to enrich special interests and lobbyists away from the politicians. Defund ObamaCare then dismantle the rest of the Welfare State. Make government what our founders meant for it to be, a PROTECTOR, not a PROVIDER.
Any American who is paying upwards if 50% in combined federal/state/local taxes is already half-slave/half-free. And with the US ominously nearing $20 TRILLION in debt, it's time to send an army of Mr. Smiths to Washington to CUT programs and CLOSE agencies.
In the coming years, Americans need to organize and start showing Establishment politicians of both parties the door. It's time to build a tidal wave of good, old-fashioned Tea Party patriotism.
