The Death of the Democratic Party

The Democratic Party of my parents' generation is dead.  It is no longer a beacon of protection for the hard working American. The diversity of ideas it claims to embrace only applies to concepts defined within their narrow points of view. Gone is freedom of speech and true social justice, in favor of opposition to anything that doesn’t fit a preconceived narrative or that generates a voting block. Defiance has replaced discussion.  Circumvention has replaced compromise. Labeling has replaced liberty. Emotion has replaced reason and has done so at all costs.

After suffering crushing losses in the last four national elections, the Democratic Party has settled into a peculiar strategy of hindrance, thus ignoring the will of the American people.  Attempts to stall, boycott, or block President Trump’s cabinet picks make the Democrats look like hypocrites since the GOP minority confirmed all of President Obama’s picks in 2009 without incident. It’s not as if Senate Democrats can block any of the appointments anyway, given Harry Reid’s 2013 invocation of the “Nuclear Option.” This feigned defiance is an exercise in futility and everything the average American detests about Washington politics.

Instead of looking for ways to work with President Trump, they have decided to gum up the works and put on a “show” for their constituents. I wonder how that sits with the Senate Democrats up for election in 2018 in states that Trump handily won. If Democrats want to ensure a supermajority for the GOP, they can continue along on their obstructionist path.  Democratic Senators Joe Manchin, Claire McCaskill, Bill Nelson, Tammy Baldwin, Bob Casey Jr., Heidi Heitkamp, Joe Donnelly, John Tester, and Debbie Stabenow are sacrificial lambs unless they break from their party’s strategy. Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi claim they are listening to the people; they may want to invest in hearing aids as they obviously didn’t hear the “real people” they like to trot out during their staged rallies on Election Day.

The Democrats look like a party in crisis with poor leadership - a group of spoiled, petulant children throwing hissy fits because they didn’t win the game.

The future of the Democratic party's direction can be seen by who is chosen to lead the Democratic National Committee. The two leading candidates to take over leadership of the DNC are Keith Ellison, who has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Sally Boynton, a racist who has publicly stated that her job is to “keep white people down.”  JFK is likely rolling in his grave over how far his party has fallen. The modern Democratic platform of identity politics and racial divide no doubt contributed to Trump’s solid victory. Anyone who opposes their agenda is vilified and labeled racist, bigot, xenophobe, misogynist, and any other ism of the month.

Rest In Peace, Democrat Party of yesteryear; the far left radicals have seized control transforming a once noble group into constitutional arsonists.
